about

Cork native, Méabh Fitzgerald is a film composer and orchestrator with a lifelong passion for music, film and storytelling.
Rooted in both classical and jazz traditions, Méabh's approach to composition blends structure with spontaneity. Her music aims not just to support the story but to become part of it - adding texture, depth, and character to the onscreen world. Although still in the infancy of her professional career, Méabh has already built a rich and varied musical life. She has performed across Ireland in settings ranging from solo piano recitals to orchestral concerts.
Her versatility as a musician also extends to the indie scene, where she writes and performs with her jangly indie-rock five-piece, Maicín - a creative outlet where she explores a different sonic landscape, and brings her storytelling instincts to a new audience.
Beyond performance and composition, Méabh is a passionate music educator. With a decade’s worth of teaching experience, she is also a published author, known for Piano People, a growing series of educational books that offer simplified and engaging arrangements of well-known piano works.
Whether working in the studio, the classroom, or the concert hall, Méabh is driven by a belief in music’s power to move, connect, and transform. With a curious mind, a collaborative spirit, and a genuine love for her craft, she continues to explore new creative paths - always with an ear for the story waiting to be told.
